Stigla je nova godina, a s njom i novosti u Minecraftu. Dok čekamo Redstone update svaki tjedan ćemo dobiti novi snapshot. Snapshot je rana verzija igre koja služi tome da se dobije feedback od igrača i uklone bugovi prije nego što izađe novi update. U 1.5 verziji očekuju se velike promjene vezane za redstone, a već sada je dodano puno novih blokova: novi chest, daylight detektor, comparator block, redstone block koji je isti kao redstone baklja ali ga je moguće micati pistonom, pressure plate koji detektira težinu odnosno broj itema koji se baci na njega.
